The International Centre for Litvak Photography has been initiating, running and cooperating with other like-minded organisations on a diverse range of projects in the fields of preservation and public engagement since 2015. Seriously impacted by the recent pandemic, in 2021 we began working on a small research project to examine how publicly funded memory institutions preserve and promote the prewar Lithuanian Jewish photographs in their collections, the results of which have completely reshaped the fundamental nature of our activities. As a result of this change, in June 2023 we wound down our operations in Lithuania, and we’re now in the process of relocating to the United Kingdom. At the time of writing, we’re currently developing two major projects, both of which will eventually form the foundations of all of our future projects.
